Georgia Bulldogs DL Azeez Ojulari to Enter the 2021 NFL Draft

ATHENS - Georgia Bulldogs defensive lineman and sack leader Azeez Ojulari has declared his intent to enter the 2021 NFL Draft.
He made the announcement on social media Saturday morning. The news was expected and came a day after Ojulari ended his stellar UGA career with one of his best games yet.
His strip-sack (recovered by Anderson) in the fourth quarter led to a Georgia touchdown two plays later. He added two more sacks in the 2021 Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl including one that resulted in a safety to end the contest, giving him a team-high 12.5 this year. The previous high sacks in a game this season was five against Tennessee.
Most draft boards have Ojulari in the first 50 picks, but that’s an inexact science. But his explosiveness from the edge is something that the Bulldogs have used to their advantage for years now.

“Ojulari has been the “lead dawg” in the wolf-pack for the past two seasons. Not only did he fill up the stat sheet, but he was also a closer. I have no evidence to prove this, but Ojulari always seemed to play his best when I was at his game. He knew deep down that he needed to turn his game up a notch on those particular nights. And he always impressed me.”
Ojulari said he was eager to win on Friday against Cincinnati in the Peach Bowl because he wanted to send the seniors out right. It turns out this was Ojulari’s final game as a Bulldog as well.
“It was important for me to just to make sure the seniors go out the right way,” he said. “Their last game, they worked so hard in this unpredictable season. You never know. Just got the opportunity to play for another game, so I took advantage of it, to play with my brothers. It was great. I mean, we just stayed within the game plan, executed, did everything the coaches wanted us to do. Made sure we had to get this win for the team.”
