Alabama head coach Nick Saban has tested positive for COVID-19, according to a report from ESPN. The school later confirmed Saban and athletic director Greg Byrne tested positive.
"Early this afternoon, we received notification that Coach Saban and Greg Byrne tested positive for COVID-19. Both immediately left the facility and went to their homes to self-isolate after receiving that information,” the statement said.
This comes only three days before Georgia was set to travel to Tuscaloosa to take on the second-ranked Crimson Tide. It’s unclear what the situation is like outside of Saban or what kind of impact this will have on the game.
Earlier today, we saw the SEC postpone the Florida-LSU game after the Gators registered 19 positive cases of the coronavirus.
