Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs are putting together another elite defensive back class in 2022 with the new public commitment from 5-star ATH, Deyon Bouie‍.

The elite cover-corner from Bainbridge (GA) is one of the top athletes in Georgia and one of the top overall players in the 2022 class. He can play either WR or DB at the next level, but he’ll likely start his career in Athens at cornerback.

Bouie chose the Bulldogs over LSU, Alabama, Florida, among others.

So, what are the Bulldogs getting in Bouie?

Athletcism and cover skills.

He’s not the biggest guy at 5-foot-11 185-pounds, but he’s a tremendous athlete who’s held a starting position for Bainbridge since his freshman year. He’s fast, he has great ball skills, and he has incredible footwork.

There just aren’t many athletes like Bouie. He has the body control, the natural coordination, the balance, everything you look for in an athletic defensive back. As a receiver, he is dangerous with the football and can take it the distance on any particular play.

At cornerback, Bouie shows elite natural instincts and the ability to lock down the opponent’s top receiver. He’s technically sound,  changes direction well, and knows how to read the quarterback’s eyes. When the ball is in the air, he’s going to make a play on it.

So where do the Bulldogs go from here?

There’s still a ways to go to fill out the 2022 class, so names will continue to pop up moving forward, but the Bulldogs now have two of the country’s top CB prospects on board with Bouie and four-star Marquis Groves-Killebrew‍.

Other 2022 DBs to keep an eye on include 5-star Jaheim Singletary‍, 5-star Travis Hunter‍, and JaDarian Rhym‍.
