The Bulldogs will be without grad-transfer Tre McKitty after the new tight end underwent an operation to have his knee scoped. McKitty injured his knee during Saturday’s scrimmage and it’s unclear when McKitty will be back to practice.

Dawg Post has learned that the procedure was “minor”, but there is no set timetable for his return. McKitty was positioned to be one of the starters heading into the season, so the Georgia staff is hopeful that he’ll be able to return for the season opener against Arkansas on the 26th.

The Bulldogs will have to lean on some new faces in his absence, including freshman Darnell Washington, red-shirt freshman Brett Seither, red-shirt freshman Ryland Goede, and red-shirt sophomore John FitzPatrick.

During his three-year career at Florida State, McKitty caught 50 passes for 520 yards and two touchdowns.
