The Georgia Bulldogs took back one of its former commitments on Monday night.

Jared Wilson‍, who had been committed to Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs until February, flipped back to the red and black after a stint being committed to in-state North Carolina.

As a player, there’s a lot to like about Wilson’s game. He might be ranked as just a three-star prospect, but Wilson is a versatile guy who moves really well for someone his size. He has above average footwork, and blocks with a nice strong base.

Wilson plays tackle for his West Forsyth team, but he’ll likely move inside to guard at the next level. He might not have the dominate tape that most Bulldog lineman have, but Wilson gets his guy on the ground. He’s consistent. He doesn’t look like Isaiah Wilson or Ben Cleveland, but he’s got plenty of size on him at 6-foot-4 325-pounds.

There’s a lot Matt Luke can do with a guy like Wilson. He won’t be asked to play early after Georgia’s big offfensive line haul in the 2020 class, but Wilson is a guy who will benefit from learning early on, tranforming his body, and perfecting his craft.

So where do the Bulldogs go from here?

Kirby Smart and Matt Luke now have three verbal commitments on the offensive line with room for likely just one more.

That final target?

5-star OT Amarius Mims‍. The Bulldogs now have two guards committed (Dylan Fairchild and Jared Wilson) to go along with four-star Micah Morris‍ who could play both guard or tackle in Athens. With the Bulldogs taking a large group of lineman in the 2020 class, this group might be done after Mims makes his commitment in October.
