The Bulldogs just got a little meaner on the offensive line after picking up a commitment from four-star, Dylan Fairchild‍.

The big 6-foot-5 300-pounder picked up his “dream offer” from Georgia in early March, and held offers from Auburn, Tennessee, LSU, South Carolina, among others.

The state-champion wrestler out of West Forsyth (GA) saw his recruitment blow up in 2020, but his offer from Matt Luke and the Bulldogs during his visit to Athens two months ago really put the Bulldogs in the driver’s seat.

Fairchild originally planned to make his decision at the end of the summer, close to the beginning of the football season, but decided to jump on board a little sooner than he originally planned. The Bulldogs were his favorite team growing up, and how the Forsyth County native will get his chance to play between the hedges.

So what are the Bulldogs getting in Fairchild?

They’re getting a physically gifted lineman with versatility. Fairchild could play both guard or tackle in Athens, but it’s his overall strength, balance, and body control that stands out the most.

He plays hard, he plays with toughness, and he likes to talk some smack on the field. If he puts you on the ground, he’s going to let you know about it. He can be somewhat quiet off the field, but he turns into a completely different person on the gridiron.

His wrestling background will certainly help him in Athens, as Matt Luke loves those types of physical lineman. He plays with great leverage, and he’s athletic enough to handle smaller, quicker defenders.

He’s flown up the rankings as of late, and it’s easy to see why. There’s a lot to like about his game, and while his film may not be jaw-dropping, he’s one of the most athletic offensive line prospects in the country. He’s great in pass protection, but he can really overpower guys in the run game.

Overall, this is an excellent pickup for Matt Luke and the Bulldogs. He’s not a guy who will come in and start right away, but he’ll provide plenty of depth early on and should be able to push for a starting job as early as year two.

Fairchild is ranked as the No.10 overall prospect in the state of Georgia by Dawg Post. He’s also ranked as the No.7 offensive guard prospect and the No.135 overall prospect in the country according to the Composite rankings.
