SEC Cancels Basketball Tournament

The SEC has cancelled its post-season basketball tournament the league announced Thursday morning. 

The move follows in the footsteps of a slew of conferences, including the Big Ten and American Athletic Conference in stopping the post-season tournament. 

The NCAA has not yet announced if it will proceed with its post-season tournament, known as the Big Dance. The organization said on Wednesday that the tournament would proceed, but without fans. 

That was the way the SEC and others were proceeding until Thursday. The announcement came within an hour and a half of the first game of the day in Nashville.
