BREAKING: Dawgs Flip 3-star DB Daran Branch From Ole Miss
Would if be Signing Day for Georgia without a flip from another SEC school?
Probably not.
The Bulldogs appear to have added the final piece to their 2020 class today after flipping and signing three-star defensive back Daran Branch from Ole Miss.
The 6-foot-2 180-pounder took his official visit to Georgia the weekend of January 25th and Georgia was on his mind ever since. Branch committed to Ole Miss back on November 17th, but an offer from the Bulldogs on December 26th put them back in the running. Branch took his official visit to Ole Miss this past weekend, but it wasn’t enough to convinve him to sign with the Rebels.
What is Georgia getting in Branch?
More versatility.

Branch isn’t the smoothest athlete, but he does have some experience playing cornerback, safety, and up close to the line of scrimmage.
He does a lot of things well, and with his quickness and length, Branch can play in a deep safety look but can also play close to the line of scrimmage against the run. He disects plays well and does a nice job of tackling.
He doesn’t have elite speed, but he showed on film he’s quick enough to run with backs who try to stretch runs out to the sideline.
Overall, Branch won’t “wow” you with his film, but he can tackle, he can play multiple positions, and he will bring some length with him to Georgia’s defense. The Bulldogs wanted to bring in another defensive back, and they got the job done with Branch.
