ATHENS - Junior linebacker Monty Rice confirmed that he will return to Georgia for his senior season.

Rice indicated to reporters at the Sugar Bowl that he would almost certainly return for his final season at Georgia. He confirmed that news on social media on Wednesday. No defensive player had turned pro early this season for the Bulldogs.

Rice ended his 2019 with five tackles against Baylor in the 2020 Sugar Bowl. He racked up 89 total tackles in 2019 - including a career-best 12 tackles against South Carolina. Rice started all 14 games for the Bulldogs in 2019.
