ATHENS - No. 4 Georgia was installed as a major favorite over Tech on Sunday.

The Bulldogs are considered a 29-point favorite over their in-state rivals. It is the largest line in the series’ history. The Bulldogs have been favored in 20 of 25 games against the Jackets since 1994. Georgia is 20-5 against Tech straight up in that time although there have been numerous upsets in the series including: 2008, 2009 and 2014.

UGA is 4-1 (2014) straight up against Tech in games where the Bulldogs are favored by double digits. The Yellow Jackets have not been favored by double digits since 1994. The highest number the Jackets have been favored by is seven, which happened in 2009 in the Bulldogs’ famous “We Run This State” upset win over the No. 7 Yellow Jackets in Atlanta.

Georgia is 26-2 (1984, 1985) straight up overall as a ranked team against unranked Yellow Jackets squads.
