This one was predictable, and I suspect the preceding three were as well to differing degrees.

We are about to find out if White has a grip on the situation, or not.

Arkansas has set the floor - apparently they now have zero players. Zero.

Sadly, I think this is what the sport has become now. Most coaches will not know their rosters until maybe mid-summer. They will have to troll the portal every day and re-recruit those they want to keep currently on their rosters. Tough job. And I don't see the NCAA having the wherewithal to make changes that would pass legal muster.

I would love to see a roster study of the Final Four, maybe final 8 or Sweet 16 - what percentage of players signed with the school originally and remained, and what percentage are transfer adds.

My hypothesis is higher retention = higher success v. a mercenary squad.

My bet is teams that supplement their roster with a transfer or few exceed rosters built on transfers.

Right at this moment, UGA is teetering, and leaning toward the latter yet again.

NC State had 7 incoming transfers in 2023, along with 5 that left.

I think your hypothesis is probably correct, but you can be successful building through the portal. Many teams have upgraded and improved that way. Just look at USCe, UF, Tx A&M (I think) and many others. There aren't many teams that have the cache to both correctly evaluate and recruit players, as well as keep them.

He was injured, then red-shirted. I will say that many who saw him in the preseason didn't think he would help us.
