4-Star DB Target Breaks Down Latest UGA Football Visit

ATHENS - As you already know by now, there were some major Georgia Bulldog targets in town over the weekend to take in G-Day.
One of those targets was four-star safety, Nassir McCoy.
Another outstanding defensive back prospect out of Buford, McCoy has already been to Athens several times this year and made his way back again on Saturday. The playmaking 6-foot-1 180-pounder spoke with Dawg Post to recap his recent G-Day visit.
“The visit was everything I thought it would be”, McCoy said. “I enjoyed seeing what they’ve been working on for the past few weeks come together in a live game. What I liked most was being able to see every aspect of the school and to see how Coach Smart and T Rob truly understand the game and how to develop a player. They’re trying to get me to UGA by inviting me to the games and practices so that I’m able to watch and learn how they are developing their team as a whole in every aspect from the coaches to the players and the staff they have in place.”
As a prospect, McCoy is an instinctive safety who closes well on the ball down the field. He also showed that even as a sophomore, playing against 7A competition, he could bring a physical style of play. He’s a strong tackler and made a big impact on an absolutely loaded Buford defense. As a junior, McCoy has a chance to have a giant this fall if he continues to work hard and develop his craft over the next several months.
McCoy is close with Bulldog freshman defensive back KJ Bolden, as the two played alongside each other for the Wolves last fall. He’s a promising defensive back in Georgia for the 2026 class and one Georgia fans need to keep a close eye on.
Right now, McCoy is ranked as the No. 23 safety prospect and the No. 240 overall prospect in the 2026 class.
