ATHENS - For close to a year now many in the recruiting world have been buzzing over 2021 running back Phil Mafah.

The 6-foot-1 215-pounder certainly has the size that stands out, but his performance last fall has peaked the interest of many top programs across the country.

One of those programs is the in-state Georgia Bulldogs. Mafah has established a relationship with running backs coach Dell McGee so there is an early connection with the Georgia staff. Head coach Kirby Smart stopped by Grayson early last week, and Mafah made his Georgia offer public on Saturday. The big, bruising back now holds offers from Georgia, Texas, Tennessee and Michigan.

Mafah was very impressive during the 2021 All-Star tryouts last month showing good strength, balance, and impressive footwork and quickness for his size.

Look for the Grayson star to keep adding offers this spring and become a nationally-known prospect sooner than later.
