What We Are Hearing: The Final Spots in Kirby's New Staff

January 12, 2019

ATHENS - The dust settled some on Friday after Kirby Smart promoted James Coley to offensive coordinator.

That move means the Bulldogs will have to fill the tight end spot, which Jim Chaney left open when he left for Tennessee. One of the top candidates to fill that spot is former Miami tights end coach Todd Hartley. The Jones County native is considered to be an up-and-coming recruiter in the South.

He started his career as a student assistant in 2005 and wound up having on-field responsibility for the 2009 Independence Bowl win over Texas A&M.
