ATHENS - As you’ve seen over the last few weeks, Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs have gone from winning championships back to winning on the recruiting trail.

Next week they’ll look to secure their No. 2 recruiting class with a strong ending to the February signing period. They’re off to a tremendous start in the 2024 class with a real chance of ending No. 1 in that cycle.

Now it might be too early for some, but the Bulldogs are off to a great start in the 2025 class as well, and last week they earned a commitment from one of the top sophomore offensive tackles across the country in Mobile, Alabama native, Micah Debose.

A powerful, vicious lineman at 6-foot-5 315-pounds, the C F Vigor HS (AL) star left tackle is as good as it gets in the 2025 class, and Dawg Post spoke with Vigor head coach Markus Cook about what the Bulldogs are getting in Dubose down the road.

“Micah is an exceptional student athlete”, Cook said. “He’s a hard worker that comes in to work and get better each day. Micah is only 15 years old. He is only scratching the surface of how good he can be. He is a mauler! He has quick feet with a powerful punch. He’s powerful in the run blocking game and has patience and violence in pass protection. He has great technique and accelerates on contact. He’s the complete package and plays with a chip on his shoulder. Micah wants to be a 5-star and works every day to accomplish that goal. He is always trying to find a way to get better. The sky is the limit for Micah DeBose.

What more could you ask for? Just 15 years old, the Alabama native has SEC-level size, work ethic, and an extremely high ceiling. He knows what his future could look like if he keeps developing and adding strength, so expect him to get better and better over the next two years.

Right now, the Bulldogs are slowly competing for the “Offensive Tackle University” title.

From Isaiah Wynn, to Andrew Thomas, to Jamaree Salyer, to Broderick Jones, it’s clear the Georgia program has produced elite offensive tackles recently as well as any program in the country.

With Amarius Mims stepping into a larger role in 2023, and guys like Earnest Greene and Monroe Freeling waiting in the wings, it’s safe to say the Bulldogs will have dominant offensive tackle play coming for the next several years.

Georgia fans might have to wait a few years to watch Debose in action, but when the time comes, Dawg Post feels they’re be satisfied with that he’ll bring to the table. Look for him to push for 5-star status in the 2025 class down the road.
