ATHENS - Kirby Smart and UGA football are getting an explosive playmaking WR in the transfer portal.
USC Trojans transfer WR Michael Jackson III just committed to Kirby Smart and UGA Football. He visited the Bulldogs in December.
“I liked everything about the visit. The coaches all expressed how much they want me there and how they see me. I was impressed by the professionalism of everybody and how they go about their development of their players. I think that’s what makes Georgia special. You get to play on the biggest stage and get some of the best development in the country,” Jackson told Dawg Post at the time.

Right now, the Arizona Wildcats have +1100 odds to win the NCAA Tournament this upcoming season according to FanDuel.
“Coach Bobo was saying how he loves my route running, speed, versatility, and my ability to help in the return game,” Jackson continued about UGA football. “They see me playing all the receiver spots but mostly “Z”, but I can play the “X” and in the slot too. I enjoyed talking to coach Smart at his house. I like his transparency and established winning culture there. You can tell he really cares for his players and their development. It’s definitely a place I can see myself at.”
The addition to UGA means the Bulldogs are once more adding firepower through the NCAA's Transfer Portal. Last year, Georgia added Rara Thomas from Mississippi State and Dominic Lovett from Missouri.
Jackson had 46 receptions for 498 yards and five touchdowns in three seasons as a Trojan.
The Bulldogs defeated No. 5 Florida State 63-3 in the 90th Orange Bowl. Georgia will open 2024 with a game in Atlanta against the Clemson Tigers. Georgia is considered an early favorite to win the 2024 national title.
