ATHENS - Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs continue to DOMINATE on the recruiting trail.

They’ve picked up two commitments in the current 2023 cycle since Sunday, and now they’ve added a commitment from one of the top in-state prospects in the 2025 class.

That would be Buford (GA) sophomore linebacker, Jadon Perlotte‍.

A long, athletic linebacker with natural instincts at 6-foot-3 215-pounds, Perlotte is the No. 7 prospect in Georgia for the 2025 class according to Dawg Post. He committed to Georgia over Alabama, Florida, Ohio State, South Carolina, among others.

So why did Perlotte commit to Georgia?

“They’re a legendary school!” Perlotte told Dawg Post. “They’re going to be great for the next 10 years and I want to be part of it! The staff there wants to win. Everything is about winning and I like it! They show so much love every time I see them!”

What will Perlotte bring to Athens?

Size, Instincts and cover skills.

A legitimate 6-foot-3 and around 215-pounds, Perlotte was a productive outside linebacker last year for the Buford Wolves, who have one of the most talented defenses in the country.

To even start at Buford means who have D1 potential, but to do it as a sophomore is really impressive. At such a young age, the Buford playmaker gets after the ball-carrier and does a good job of reading plays before they happen.

He strikes when he hits, can create turnovers, and he’s becoming a leader already in the Buford locker room. As reliable as he is as a sure-tackling run defender, his length and natural cover instincts make him an every-down linebacker. He can help stop the run on early downs and he’s an excellent linebacker in coverage as well. His long frame allows him to cover bigger tight over the middle of the field and his ball skills allow him to break up passes.

He might be young, but he’s a player. Glenn Schumann and the defensive staff aren’t just handing out offers left and right. They know what Perlotte can turn into with a few more years of development, and that’s a guy they want in Athens for the 2025 season.

The 247 Composite Rankings rank Perlotte as the No. 4 LB prospect, the No. 5 prospect in Georgia, and the No. 32 overall prospect in the country for the 2025 class.
