ATHENS - Sam Pittman’s “Great Wall of Georgia” for the 2020 class is now complete.

The Bulldogs landed a commitment Saturday from four-star offensive lineman Sedrick Van Pran‍ who picked UGA over Oklahoma, Texas A&M and Alabama, among others. Van Pran has been one of Georgia’s biggest targets in this cycle along the offensive line and made him a top priority during his late March visit to Athens.

The 6-foot-4, 305-pounder was in Athens in late March and told Dawg Post that he felt like a top priority for the Bulldogs after that visit. Van Pran‍ was back in Athens again the last weekend of July for Georgia’s final recruiting weekend before the fall. The attention from those visits was enough for him to pick UGA.

“The visit was a success for the coaches,” Van Pran told Dawg Post in the spring.  “Their goal was to show me I was a priority, and they did just that. I got to sit in meetings, go to practice, then have one-on-ones with Coach Pittman and Coach Smart. Even the tour guides were extremely nice, and I appreciated the hospitality. I really enjoyed my time because everyone knew who I was and treated me with great respect.”

The Van Pran commitment gives the Bulldogs a center in the 2020 class - helping to finalize the offensive line. The Bulldogs have commitments from two top tackle prospects in Tate Ratledge and Broderick Jones and have two interior lineman committed in Van Pran and four-star Joshua Braun. While Van Pran could also play guard, sources say it’s likely he will end up at center as his career progresses in Athens.

Van Pran is ranked as the No. 3 center in the country, the No. 3 prospect in Louisianna and the No. 106 prospect in the country.

Van Pran becomes Georgia’s 17th commitment in the 2020 class.
